There are tons of gamers are in great anticipation of the release of wrath of the Cataclysm Beta in World of Warcraft. One of many features that these players are anticipating is the new continent of "Northrend". While blizzard Entertainment is keeping lots of info about this widely predicted continent under tabs, there has been some information released that players can use to find out more about this continent. In this guide, you'll be exposed to a few of the info that is available regarding the continent of Northrend in World of Warcraft. Northrend is the cold, ominous home to the evil Lich King. The continent is said to be extremely icy, and there looks to be dark cloud hanging over the area. This is the area where the Icecrown Citadel is located.

This is the crib of the evil Lich King. The continent is located in the North. Originally, this area was essentially part of Kalimdor. It's been quoted the continent is called "the roof of the world". Now, it is literally a complete wasteland that broke from Kalimdor thanks to a break during the "Sundering". This is a world event which happened in World of Warcraft that reshaped the way that Azeroth looks. This happened after the War of the Ancients, about 10,000 years prior to where we are now. When the "Well of Eternity" was wiped out, it actually led on to the cataclysm. Right at roughly eighty percent of the general land was devastated. Now, we are left with just the lands of Kezan, Eastern dominions, Northrend, and Kalimdor. The ever-popular "Well of Eternity" is now called "Maelstrom" which is a tough vortex. Northrend drifted up in the cold waters and rested in the North of all of the lands...overtaken by the cold, the snow, the ice...it became the appropriate resting place for the ominous Lich King, thousands upon thousands of gigantic dragons in the area of "The Dragonblight", only they are in the shape of skeletons, and the Nerubians. These are men, but are inspired by the shadows and are in the forms of spiders. Every once in a while, you can run across a human, or even perhaps a troll...but this is a rare occurrence. Additionally to several different regions in Northrend, there are a number of Dungeons that you can experience on this continent. As you can see here, Northrend is stuffed with lots of interesting regions, dungeons, races, and more. In addition to this, it comes with a rich history that is bound to play an imperative role in the present times to determine the future of this frozen wasteland in World of Warcraft's wrath of the Lich King.
